Classifieds Ads
A minimum billing of $20.00 will be charged for all classified ads. This entitles the advertiser to a three-line ad (approx. 15 words. A line is five (5) words.), which will run for two weeks unless otherwise specified. Ads longer than three lines will be charged $2.00 for each additional line. All classified ads must be PREPAID. Nugget-NAIT Internal Advertising Guideline
Free display advertising that does not meet a criterion of academic benefit is only run on a convenience basis at the discretion of the Nugget Production Manager. If guaranteed space is wanted, then the ad must be paid for at the regular internal rates and will go through Playhouse Publications.
All classified ads, except for free ads given registered students, will be subjected to the classified ads guideline noted above.
The Nugget has been NAIT’s student newspaper since 1963. Last year, we published 26 weekly editions in print and online. There were 716 pages of content that was, for the most part, assigned, written, edited and photographed by students.
Led by student Editor-in-Chief Rachel Jacques, the paid Nugget editorial staff consists of:
- Issues Editor and assistant - Anna Estanislao & Stefanie Fischer (issues@nait.ca): head up the news section and report on stories that affect the daily lives of students.
- Entertainment Editor and assistant - Natascha Bruhin & Christine Vu (entertain@nait.ca): follow concerts and events, review movies, video games and albums, and ensure entertainment on campus is being covered.
- Sports Editor and assistant - Patrick Knowles & Baljot Bhatti (sports@nait.ca): we cover the teams, report on the games and publish the scores all year.
- Photography Editor - Laura Dettling (photo@nait.ca): captures the stories in photographs.
We are always looking for writers, editors, photographers and cartoonists to contribute to the paper. If you’re interested in getting paid to see your work published, please send a resume with a writing sample to the Editor-in-Chief at studenteditor@nait.ca or call 780-471-7615. You’re always welcome to drop by the Nugget office at E-128, across the hall from NAITSA.
